Spend your summer on the Long Island Sound!
The Guilford Yacht Club Association, Inc. (GYC), in partnership with the Town of Guilford Parks and Recreational Department, will provide a beginner and intermediate level Junior Sailing Program at the GYC for members and non-members. The Junior Sailing Program will run late June to mid-August. The core goal of this program is to engage children in the joys of sailing and appreciation for the beautiful Connecticut Shoreline in a structured and educational environment. Program activities will promote the sport in all weather conditions, with boat handling and seamanship skills as part of each class (including proper terminology, knots, environmental stewardship, water safety, etc.) The program emphasizes fairness, good sportsmanship and teamwork in a fun environment.
The Guilford Yacht Club & The Town of Guilford Parks and Recreation Department are dedicated to providing a wonderful program for our young sailors. Sessions are available for GYC members and non-members.
GYC Junior Sailing will begin on June 22nd and run as eight 1-week sessions.
