Club Sailing

Guilford Yacht Club sailing events include Club rendezvous and Ladies Sailing Nights several times each summer. See the RACING PAGE for information on Guilford Cup PHRF racing.

The GYC Sailing Program Committee has provided a Ladies Sailing Program for several years. The format varies, and can include signing up for a “big boat” experience, as well as sailing instruction on the GYC 420s and Blue Jays.

Our big boat experience is run with the help of a several of our knowledgeable sailing members on their personal boats.

The members that sign up for the small boat experience will gain hands on experience with the help of our skilled instructors.

Whatever you chose, all are sure to enjoy a great night out on Long Island Sound!

Ladies Sailing Events are usually held 2-3 times per summer, on weekday evenings. A typical night would be:

5:30 p.m. Participants meet at Osprey’s Nest

6:00 p.m. Participants are assigned boats and partners as needed

7:30 p.m. Participants put away the boats and retire to the Osprey’s Nest to share their experiences and enjoy
each other’s company

Event Registration:

So that we have appropriate staff and volunteers on hand, we take reservations for participation up until early July.
A fee of $10 per person, per session will be charged.

When registering, please note if you would like to enjoy the small or big boat experience.
